Light leaks at the start of the roll

One of the little things I enjoy most about shooting film are the light leaks and unexpected effects you get on the first few frames of a roll.

There are several causes. The most common is partial exposure during loading. Sometimes it's on cheaper respooled film (such as Candido or Flic) where for whatever reason some light has managed to travel up the canister. Once, when jet lagged in Bangkok, I made the mistake of opening my camera back before rewinding. I thought I'd ruined the whole roll - but in reality while I'd burned a few frames I had a cool effect on several others!
